Unusual Instruments

A musical instrument is described as an object or device that produces musical sounds. They come in many different musical groups including wind, brass, percussion, wood and strings.

Music is derived from many different sounds and some of these sounds are made by musical instruments. Musical instruments are used all over the world and there are many different varieties. The common instruments like the trumpet and guitar can be categerised by the material they are made from, i.e. brass and string.

The stranger instruments that are not so widely recognised can be made from odd materials and are often bizarre in appearance and sound. As with the more common instruments, the more peculiar ones are found all over the globe but are less known and can be found in the more remote areas of the planet.

Instruments can be made from any material, ranging from glass to a blade of grass. The strange instruments are thought of as being strange from their names to what they are made from. They can make strange sounds as well as having extraordinary names, looks and materials.
